What Does this X-ray Test Result Mean?
Hello, i have an xray 2 days from now and i have 4 results.. 1) The bronchovascular markings are prominent with no definite active parenchymal infiltrates. 2) Heart shadow is enlarged 3) Diaphragm is intact 4) The rest of the visualized thoracic structures are unremarkable. The question is What it means of all that 4 result?

The following things can be concluded based on the chest x-ray report you have furnished.
1. Bronchovascular markings are prominent - blood vessels of the lung are prominent and is considered to be normal.
2. No definite active parenchymal infiltrates - lung tissue is suggestive to be normal and there is no indication of presence of infection such as tuberculosis.
3. Heart shadow is enlarged - This is termed as 'cardiomegaly', which could be due age-related hypertensive changes.
4. Diaphragm is intact - Considered to be normal.
5. Rest of the visualised thoracic structures are unremarkable - No abnormalities are seen with other thoracic structures.
Hence, the report can be considered as normal findings, except for the enlarged heart, which needs to be evaluated.
You may need further investigations like an echocardiogram to know if there are any abnormalities pertaining to the heart.
